2nd Annual Congress of the Global Diabetes Alliance

The second Global Diabetes Alliance Congress will be held in Cairo, Egypt, on  October 26 -29,  2010.  Save the date for this important gathering of clinical diabetes scientists coming from all over the world to initiate collaborative clinical research projects designed to better understand and prevent the current global diabetes epidemic.  The first Congress was held in Seattle in October 2007. As a result, working groups were formed that designed numerous research protocols that will be distributed to interested diabetes scientists.

The major goal is to conduct studies using identical protocols so that data can be shared in real time among all participants. This will be done with the intent of gaining a deeper understanding about the pathogenesis and appropriate treatment and preventive measures for diabetes on a world-wide basis. The Congress will be dedicated to presentation of updates about the diabetes epidemic in various parts of the world and workshops designed to initiate collaborative research projects among groups of investigators throughout the world. The Global Diabetes Alliance Steering Committee is comprised of 15 clinical diabetes experts from many parts of the world.
