The call for applications for the IDF Europe Prize in Diabetes is now open!
Launched in 2012, the IDF Europe Prize in Diabetes rewards excellence, innovation and commitment in Diabetes.
This award also aims at increasing awareness of diabetes and recognizing outstanding individuals who have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of people with diabetes.
This year, IDF Europe will be awarding two prizes:

- One to a person or organization in the category Long Standing Achievement - click here to see the eligibility criteria
The winners of the 2013 edition of the IDF Europe Prizes in Diabetes will be notified of the decision of the Nominating Committee by 15 October 2013, and will be invited to take part in the awarding ceremony, which will take place in the European Parliament in Brussels on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, 13 November 2013.
How to apply?
To apply, please fill in the IDF Europe Prize in Diabetes application form.
In addition, for both categories, the peer who nominates the applicant should send a short essay (500 words maximum) explaining the achievements of the individual or of the organization.
Please note that for the Young Researcher category, a brief report on the outcome basic/clinical research whill forms the basis for the application. The research should be carried out fully/partly in Europe. If the research has been published, a copy of the publication should also be sent. If not yet published, a supporting statement by the supervisor or Head of the Department indicating that the nominee is the principal investigator of the research
