Objectives:
The project is testing the implementation of a specific methodology for education of type 2 diabetic patients that is set up using patients involved (peer educators) and 3 guides developed specifically for the therapeutic education of type 2 diabetic patients. This project is taking place in 1 site in Mali: the capital Bamako. 75 people with diabetes are included in the intervention group and 75 in the control group. At various stages of the project, the team will analyze the impact on biological, anthropological constants, etc ... of the group undergoing the intervention compared to the control group.
BRIDGES (Bringing Research in Diabetes to Global Environments and Systems) is a programme initiated by the International Diabetes Federation, and supported by an educational grant from Lilly Diabetes.
