Diabetes Preventing the Preventables (DPP) Forum is an annual medical conference organized by Asia Diabetes Foundation and co-organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong - Prince of Wales Hospital - International Diabetes Federation Centre of Education.
The objectives of DPP Forum 2014 are:
- Recognise the multiple roles of doctors as leaders, managers, researchers and trainers to advocate, coordinate, implement and evaluate a care system conducive to practice of preventive medicine and evidence-based chronic care.
- Acquire scientific knowledge regarding the utilities of various quality improvement initiatives and technologies in preventing disease with ongoing evaluation including clinical outcomes and quality of life.
- Understand the rationale, objectives and implementation of personalised drug therapies with special reference to Asian populations.
- Improve the clinic setting through task delegation, case management and empowerment to address multiple needs of people with diabetes and chronic diseases.
