Champion chef takes diabetes on the road again

Charles Mattocks, celebrity chef and IDF Blue Circle Champion, will head back out on the road this October and November for a new three month RV tour. Due to an overwhelmingly positive response to his first tour, Charles will now take his RV from New York to California with about 30 stops in between.

This tour will focus on the Southern US States or as the media has called it the "Diabetes Belt" of America. Charles will be stopping at military bases to offer expert advice to US veterans for whom diabetes is a big healthcare concern.

Stops will also include hospitals, schools, churches and ADA, JDRF events. The aim is to educate and inspire millions across the country. Speaking on the importance of the tour, Charles said "millions of people lose their lives to diabetes and seem to go unnoticed. We have to change that, we have to fight for these people and equip them with the necessary tools and education so they can continue to fight diabetes after the RV has gone".

Diabetes educators, physicians and other healthcare professionals will be on the tour to offer timely advice. Charles is confident that this new tour will pick up where he left off and take diabetes awareness to the “next level”.

The tour will also provide Charles with the opportunity to shoot final scenes for his global documentary movie 'The Diabetic You', a project which has taken him around the world following the lives of people with diabetes.
