IDF Corporate Partnerships

The International Diabetes Federation is seeking to partner with companies that can make a meaningful contribution to promoting diabetes care and prevention worldwide. IDF corporate partnerships build on synergies between the Federation’s mission and activities, and the strategic objectives of responsible corporations.

By supporting IDF, corporations can engage their employees, customers and stakeholders in a life-saving mission and play a major role in:

  • Linking with the global diabetes community to raise the profile of the disease at national and international level.
  • Ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated to combating the epidemic; namely for prevention, clinical care and management.
  • Increasing the profile of non-communicable diseases on global and national health agendas.
  • Leading a global transformation in diabetes care and management by placing quality diabetes education within reach of those who need it.

IDF corporate partnerships consist of a combination of:

  • Funding
  • Knowledge and expertise
  • In kind contributions
  • Access to organizations and decision-makers

What IDF offers its corporate partners

IDF recognizes its corporate partners as Official Partners of  World Diabetes Day. They are involved in shaping this diabetes advocacy and awareness campaign that involves millions of people worldwide. The theme of World Diabetes Day for 2009-2013 is ‘Diabetes education and prevention’.

IDF helps its partners reach out directly to the global diabetes community through the  World Diabetes Congress and through innovative projects that seek to enhance access to and quality of diabetes care and education.

IDF is spearheading the fight against diabetes and non-communicable diseases, with a special focus on low and middle-income countries. We are an alliance of over 200 national diabetes associations, representing two million members in more than 160 countries and territories. This provides IDF partners with the unique opportunity to gain visibility at global, national and community level.

IDF is associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations and is in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). An authority in diabetes advocacy, IDF shares with its partners its knowledge, professional expertise and quality programmes aimed at reducing the burden of diabetes worldwide.

IDF corporate partners are allocated dedicated account managers to serve their day-to-day requirements and provide strategic guidance. As partners, we are independent, innovative and transparent.

How to get involved?

IDF has two types of corporate partnerships:

  • Global partners are engaged in multi-year, strategic partnerships. In addition to IDF core activities, they may also support tailored specific programmes.
  • Corporate supporters actively contribute to IDF's work and activities to promote diabetes care, prevention and a cure worldwide. They also participate in joint efforts to strengthen global awareness and advocacy.
