The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) collaborates with Insulin for Life Australia (IFL) to distribute emergency diabetes supplies in situations of acute need. IDF cannot receive donations of insulin or other diabetes supplies, so any offers from individuals or organizations should be directed to Insulin for Life.
IFL is a non-profit organisation that collects and distributes insulin and other diabetes supplies that would otherwise be wasted. These are donated to recognised organisations in many countries, with agreed monitoring systems, on an ongoing, sustainable basis, and following emergencies. Recipient organisations include children’s diabetes camps, programmess involving Australian medical students, Diabetes Associations and clinics.
Insulin for Life distributes supplies through a network of affiliates located around the world. Countries that currently form part of the network include Austria, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and the USA.
