Cordis EMEA, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, has donated 2,610EUR to the IDF Life for a Child programme. This generous donation was raised during the congress of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE).
Part of the funds will go toward helping the lives of children with diabetes in Eritrea through the Eritrea National Diabetic Association, a partner of the Life for a Child programme. Meters and one year's worth of strips will be provided for around 45 children and youth in the country.
These resources are crucial to the daily self-monitoring of children with type 1 diabetes, and will have a major impact on their ability to properly care for their health and manage their condition.
The other part of this donation will go toward an epidemiological study which will be conducted in five countries: Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Mali, Pakistan, and Sudan.
