Generous donation from Italian diabetes association to further Life for a Child’s efforts in Tajikistan and Zimbabwe

The IDF Life for a Child Programme is very pleased to have received a generous donation of €35,000 from the Associazione Medici Diabetologi (AMD, Italian Association of Clinical Diabetologists), a member association of the International Diabetes Federation.

The donation will allow the Programme to advance its efforts on behalf of more than 12,000 children and adolescents that it currently supports in 45 developing countries, transforming their health so that they can live full and healthy lives. The availability of care and resources for children and youth in developing countries continues to be an enormous challenge and, while the Programme can report very encouraging achievements, there remains much more still to be done.

The funds received will be used by Life for a Child specifically to improve access to HbA1c and microalbuminuria testing in Tajikistan and Zimbabwe, as well as documenting the clinical status and rate of complications in Tajik youth with diabetes.

Life for a Child expresses its gratitude for the generous support of AMD, which will serve as further inspiration for its continued work towards achieving its mission that "No Child should die of Diabetes."
