LFAC Chair awarded prestigious honour

Every year, Australians from many walks of life are officially recognised by Her Majesty Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, for their service to the community, through the Order of Australia honours. The award is the "the principal and most prestigious means of recognising outstanding members of the community at a national level."

In this years' Queen's Birthday Honours List announced in June, IDF Life for a Child Programme Chair and former IDF President Professor Martin Silink was made an Officer of the Order in the General Division, advancing him from a Member of the Order. The award identified his "distinguished service to medicine in the field of paediatric endocrinology as a clinician, researcher and administrator, and to international leadership in diabetes care and advocacy."

The IDF Life for a Child Steering Committee and Management team heartily congratulate Martin on this illustrious honour.
