Young Jamaicans walk to raise awareness of diabetes

On Sunday April 13, a group of 14 Jamaican teenagers and young adults with diabetes will walk 5km to raise awareness of the alarming increase of diabetes in young people, and to raise funds for much-needed support groups for children and their parents.

The IDF Life for a Child Programme has worked alongside the Diabetes Association of Jamaica (DAJ) since late 2009 and currently provides assistance to 350 young people with diabetes in the country, aged 2 to 24 years old. All participants on Sunday receive support from Life for a Child.

The Programme congratulates the Jamaica Broilers Group of Companies for their organisation and support of the event.
