The Dutch Diabetes Association  - Diabetesvereniging Nederland -tries to improve the lives of all people with diabetes in The Netherlands. 


Main Focus

  • To provide information and support to help people manage their diabetes
  • To provide advice on national diabetes topics
  • To make the voice of people with diabetes count in discussions with government, health care and health insurance companies
  • To improve diabetes care 


Some of their key activities include:
  • To provide information concerning living with diabetes via our magazine Diabc, our websites and social media.
  • To answer questions concerning living with diabetes via telephone or e-mail. 
  • To develop useful products and services for people with diabetes, like our webshop with diabetes devices or the Diabetes Zorgwijzer, a guide to better diabetes care. It tells you what good diabetes care means, what you can expect from your healthcare team and what your own responsibilities are. 
  • To stand up for the collective and individual interests of our members. 

Young Leaders in Diabetes

Annelieke, Jonna and Lisanne represent the Dutch Diabetes Association in the Young Leaders in Diabetes Programme (YLD).
