Cary Adams, Chair of the NCD Alliance, today called on the WHO to consider five priorities for the Global NCD Action Plan.
The priorities, fall under the areas of, leadership, resources, synergy, engagement and accountability
Following the successful commitment of WHO Member States to the 2011 UN Political Declaration on NCDs, Adams told the Executive Board that now is the time for Member States to establish "the means and mechanisms required to coordinate global action on NCDs".
The joint statement was released during the 132nd WHO Executive Board, which started on January 21 and will run until January 29.
