International Women's Day: obesity, smoking and sedentary lifestyles put women at high risk of diabetes

On International Women’s Day it is time to reflect on the global impact of diabetes on women. An estimated 382 million people live with diabetes worldwide, and approximately half of these people are women.  Diabetes is the ninth leading cause of death in women globally, causing 2.1 million deaths per year.

Cities challenged to be "diabetes aware"

The world’s cities will soon have the opportunity to be officially designated “diabetes aware”.   They will be challenged to show that their public services and businesses encourage healthy lifestyles for people with diabetes and those at risk.

Diabetes UK and IDF Europe release joint statement on UK Front of Pack Nutrition Labelling Scheme

Ahead of the Council of the European Union meeting on Competitiveness on 20 and 21 February, IDF Europe and Diabetes UK have issued a joint statement on the UK Front of Pack Nutrition Labelling Scheme.
