The European Commission has released its 2013 Work Plan for its Health Programme. The plan sets the annual priorities for implementation of EU Health Programme.

Linda McGoldrick has been appointed interim Chief Executive Officer of IDF until a permanent appointment is made, hopefully by the spring of 2013.
Linda is a global business strategy leader and policy expert in the health care and life sciences sectors. She has held a number of senior roles in European and North American companies, and has extensive experience of serving on the boards of NGOs, charities and public bodies in both Europe and the US.

As part of its World Diabetes Day 2012 celebrations, IDF Life for a Child Programme partner LifeScan, Inc., part of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Diabetes Companies, has generously donated one million test strips to children with diabetes in seven countries (Mali, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Guyana, Guatemala) supported by the Programme.

The IDF BRIDGES programme supports translational research to determine the actions that improve outcomes in different populations. To date, BRIDGES is supporting 38 studies into sustainable community-based interventions for adoption in the real world.
