Batches of the insulin medicine NovoMix 30 FlexPen and Penfill to be recalled

Patients using medicine from the affected batches should be switched to products from unaffected batches or alternative treatment

The European Medicines Agency is giving recommendations on how to deal with a recall of some batches of the diabetes medicine NovoMix 30 FlexPen and Penfill. The affected batches are being recalled because of a manufacturing problem during the filling of the cartridges, which resulted in some batches of NovoMix 30 containing too high or too low amounts of insulin units per millilitre.

IDF Europe supports statement on Nutrition and NCDs at 63rd WHO Regional Committee meeting

IDF Europe is supporting a joint statement that will be delivered tomorrow at the 63rd WHO Regional Committee for Europe meeting in Izmir, Turkey.

The statement has been submitted by the World Cancer Research Fund International, and on behalf of other organisations concerned with nutrition and non-communicable diseases: the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians, European Heart Network, European Public Health Alliance, International Association for the Study of Obesity.

On Tuesday, the United Nations (UN) released a summary report reflecting the views of more than one million people from UN Member States on the post-2015 development agenda.
