International Diabetes Federation moves into new offices
On April 20, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) announced that they have moved to new offices in Brussels. IDF is a federation of over 200 diabetes associations in over 160 countries and has its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
The Federation’s work has expanded exponentially to meet the challenge of the growing global diabetes epidemic. Diabetes organizations around the world are applying for membership; the Executive Office in Brussels has expanded to support work in key areas of diabetes education, epidemiology and health economics.
Conference in Jamaica focuses on Diabetes and HIV/AIDS
In Jamaica, the 15th Annual International Diabetes Conference was held at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Hotel in Ocho Rios on March 26-29. The theme of the event was "Diabetes and HIV/AIDS: The Chronic Duo," which reflected the concerns of conference organisers that these two diseases, seperately and in combination, have the potential to do severe damage to the health and well-being of the global population.
IDF urges immediate action to address growing diabetes epidemic in Europe
The International Diabetes Federation - Europe (IDF Europe) is calling for urgent implementation of the United Nations Resolution on Diabetes (Resolution 61/225) in Europe.
