The IDF South and Central America Region encompasses 22 countries and territories. The current prevalence of diabetes in the region ranges from 4% in Paraguay to 13.7% in the Netherlands Antilles.
IDF South and Central American Action Plan
The South and Central American action plan was developed following a meeting on October 7 2008 and identifies the urgent actions that are needed to stem the growth of the disease.
