The IDF World Diabetes Day Participative Video Campaign consists of an online platform displaying short videos of individuals around the world showing and telling us how they are 'Acting on Diabetes. Now.' The campaign aims at engaging the grassroots diabetes community to showcase the global unity for the diabetes in this UN Summit year for diabetes and other non-communicable diseases.
Participating is easy:
- Visit http://participativevideo.worlddiabetesday.org and get inspired by seeing examples of videos that have already been contributed.
- Think of a short message that best conveys how you or your friends and family are acting on diabetes (e.g. I act on diabetes by walking to work every day).
- Film yourself saying the message for 5 to 10 seconds. No need for a fancy video camera, even a mobile phone or webcam will do. Don't forget to use the blue circle, the global symbol of diabetes, in your video. You can make your own or just draw it on a piece of paper or on a part of your body.
- Go to http://participativevideo.worlddiabetesday.org and follow the simple instructions to submit your video.
All languages are welcome. IDF is also offering a free registration to the World Diabetes Congress in Dubai in December for the video that receives the most 'likes'.
