Professor Ayesha Motala is Head of the Diabetes Unit in the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, Durban, South Africa. She is currently also Chairperson of the Department of Internal Medicine and Medical Sciences of the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain.
