A-1: Aim of BRIDGES Research Net
Since its inception in 2008, BRIDGES has been financially supporting 38 projects in 34 countries (including 2 D-START projects). For more information, please visit www.idf.org/bridges
The aim of BRIDGES has always been to support projects which, if successful, can be easily replicated in other parts of the world. BRIDGES Research Net has been developed to facilitate this activity by selecting one successful intervention and sponsoring its dissemination.
For this round, the following intervention has been selected: “The Impact of Initiation of an Educational and Preventive Foot Care Center for Subjects with Diabetes in Alexandria, Egypt ”.
The main objective of the intervention is to implement a Proper Foot Care for the Diabetic patients which will result in a significant reduction in the rate of lower extremity amputation. This intervention has been developed and implemented by Professor Samir Assaad Khalil from the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
The recipient(s) will be screened by BRIDGES Review Committee and selected by BRIDGES Executive Committee.
