The education strategies for groups and individuals in the Diabetes education program would improve the participants’ knowledge about the disease and change psychological attitudes, thus benefiting the behavioral change associated with compliance to the diet and physical activity, and improve metabolic control and quality of life. The individual and group educational activities will be supervised by health professionals (physician, nurse, nutritionist, psychologist and physiotherapist) using recreational and interactive dynamics, making it easier for health professionals and diabetes patients to exchange experiences. The educational program will be evaluated every three months in order to determine the effects of the therapeutic education on disease control.
