In 2003 the representatives of the diabetes associations from the Eastern Europe decided to have a yearly forum to discuss the latest developments in the region, share their experiences, work together for a coordinated health policy on diabetes in the region and to take common decisions regarding their participation in the IDF/IDF Europe events. Since the beginning the EEC annual meetings have as general sponsor the representative office of Novo Nordisk in Moscow.
