Jean Claude Mbanya, IDF President, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo.
To celebrate the occasion, the University’s Institute of Health and Society organised a series of events including two half-day scientific programmes.
During the two hour programme at Ulleval Hospital, on August 31, President Mbanya addressed the audience on Uniting to turn the tide on Diabetes and other Non-communicable Diseases.
Speaking after receiving the doctorate President Mbanya said “it is a great honour to be recognised in this way by such an outstanding and well established medical faculty”.
Today President Mbanya addressed the University Hospital in Ahus, with closing comments from past IDF President, Professor Jak Jervell. Later President Mbanya is expected to attend a reception with the King of Norway and the Queen of Denmark to launch the bicentennial celebrations of the University of Oslo.
