IDF Europe is the European chapter of the International Diabetes Federation. According to the IDF Regional Development Plan, “… regions [should] acquire all the resources they need to help the member associations, and develop a strong regional structure, based on collaboration with the member associations”. IDF Europe includes 65 diabetes organizations from 47 European countries. These organizations work wholeheartedly and advocate for the rights of about 53 million people with diabetes. The European region has the second largest rate of diabetes prevalence 8.4%. In IDF Europe there are two of the first five countries with the largest number of people with diabetes: Russia and Germany (adding up to 17 million). |
