Association Twinning Initiative
One of the main objectives of the Task Force on Insulin, Test Strips and Other Diabetes Supplies is to increase accessibility to insulin and diabetes supplies in the many countries in the world where this is lacking. To contribute towards achieving this aim, the Task Force has developed the Association Twinning Initiative (ATI). This initiative aims to encourage IDF member associations in developed countries to 'twin' with a select number of associations in developing countries to initiate and implement projects to improve access to insulin and diabetes supplies.
We invite all IDF member associations to participate in the initiative. Below are a selection of documents for download describing the project in more detail, as well as a reply form to be completed by associations interested in becoming involved.
- Presentation of the ATI (PowerPoint file)
- Outline of procedure for implementation of the ATI (pdf file)
- Outline of the Rapid Access Protocol for Insulin Access (RAPIA)* (pdf file)
- ATI reply form (pdf file)
*RAPIA, developed by the International Insulin Foundation (IIF), could be used for needs assessment for insulin and diabetes supplies in the countries chosen as 'twins'.
