Data Visualisations

The online version for download of the IDF Diabetes Atlas is the most correct and up to date.

Some printed versions in English contain an error on page 15. The bottom righthand map for expenditures listed the wrong unit; the figures should be in billions (B) not millions (M).

On page 127 of the English printed version, the Incidence of type 1 diabetes (0-14) per 100,000 for the World should be blank. There are 79,100 children estimated to develop type 1 diabetes every year, but this is not the rate per 100,000.

The 6th Edition of the IDF Diabetes Atlas generates estimates using new studies that became available in the last year, and updated population estimates. The new estimates follow the same upward trajectory evidenced by previous editions of the Atlas, and add urgency to the need for effective prevention, treatment, and an end to silence and discrimination.
