46th Annual Meeting of the Diabetes Pregnancy Study Group

The 46th Annual Meeting of the Diabetes Pregnancy Study Group (DPSG) will be held at Danubius Health Spa Resort Helia in Budapest (Hungary) between 2-5 October 2014.

The aim of the DPSG is to improve the detection and management of diabetes in pregnant women and their offspring by fostering research, treatment and education in the subject of diabetic pregnancy

NEURODIAB 2014

NEURODIAB is a study group of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) which focuses on clinical and experimental aspects of diabetic neuropathy.

Its primary aim is to promote the advance of knowledge on all aspects of diabetic neuropathy through an active cooperation between interested diabetologists and other specialists such as neurologists, neurophysiologists, urologists, gastroenterologists, etc.  In pursuit of this aim it will also encourage appropriate surveys and clinical trials.

IDF makes the case for mobile health

IDF has responded to the European Commission Green Paper on mobile health (mHealth) putting  forward the case for integrating mobile health into existing health services.

IDF believes that mHealth technologies can contribute to strengthened health systems, improved health outcomes and empowerment of individuals to manage their lifestyle and personalise their healthcare.

Three years after the historic UN High Level Meeting on Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs), countries from around the world gathered in New York on 10-11 July for the UN NCD Review (#NCDReview). The meeting was held in the presence of government representatives and consisted of two plenary meetings and two thematic roundtable discussion as well as side events.

WINGS project highlights

The International Diabetes Federation's Women in India with GDM Strategy (WINGS) project is the first-ever strategy to tackle the rising prevalence of gestational diabetes (GDM) in India. The project aims to develop a context-adapted model approach to care in low-resource settings which will confront the widespread challenges in GDM screening and management.

IDF recognises volunteer excellence

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) has launched an award programme to honour IDF’s dedicated volunteers. Awards have been selected by the Awards Nomination Committee chaired by Anne Belton and recognise IDF’s outstanding volunteers both regionally and globally.
