Projects are selected by our Review Committee chaired by Juan José Gagliardino (Argentina) and Ayesha Motala (South Africa).

Code of Conduct

BRIDGES, as any programme initiated and managed by the International Diabetes Federation, follows a strict code of conduct elaborated by IDF to manage its relations with partners.

The code of conduct is currently under review by the IDF Executive Board and will be available shortly.

The first four rounds of funding resulted in 38 projects (22 short-term and 16 long-term) being selected to be financially supported by BRIDGES.

1. What is translational research?


The deadline for the second round of funding was 01 June 2009.

Some 147 applications were received from 65 different countries.They were reviewed by the BRIDGES Review Committee and all applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application at the beginning of January 2010.

The third round of funding will start in June 1st 2010.
