Seven clinics are currently implementing the pilot IDF GDM Model of Care. Two new clinics have started using the project’s protocol for the GDM screening and management of women diagnosed with GDM: The Punjab Association Clinic and the Durgabhai Deshmukh Hospital. Women with GDM are being managed using the new IDF GDM model approach to care protocol. After the deliver, both mothers and babies are followed-up for outcomes. Subsequent analysis of findings is underway.
Counselling and community-based activities are now incorporated into the IDF GDM Model of Care to promote proper nutrition and physical activity at the community level.
