World Diabetes Congress: abstract categories

If you have submitted an abstract for the World Diabetes Congress in Melbourne, you should by now have received notification of whether yours has been accepted by the programme committee.

If your abstract has been accepted, please check which category it will fall under.

Oral presentation:

  • These sessions run from 10:45-12:45 on 3, 4, 5 and 6 December
  • They take place within the session halls
  • Instead of a poster, the author is required to create a PowerPoint presentation
  • The author has 10 minutes to present followed by 5 minutes of audience questions

Poster discussion:

  • These sessions run from 13:00-14:00 on 3, 4 and 5 December
  • They take place in the poster area
  • The author is required to create a poster
  • A chairperson will manage the session and take the audience from poster to poster
  • Each author has 4 minutes to present followed by 2 minutes of audience questions
  • Authors are advised to attend to their posters during the rest of the lunch break (12:45-14:30) to present to individuals who view their poster

Poster:

  • Posters are displayed in the poster area
  • The author is required to create a poster
  • No session is organised but authors are advised to attend to their posters during the rest of the lunch break (12:45-14:30) to present to individuals who view their poster

Accepted by title:

  • No poster will be displayed and no presentation given
  • The abstract titles will be listed in the programme book
  • Abstracts will be published on the abstract CD-ROM
