Diabetes experts convene in the Middle East

WHAT: The International Diabetes Federation’s WORLD DIABETES CONGRESS 2011. Estimated attendance: 15,000 international delegates, over 1000 speakers

WHEN: 4-8 December 2011

WHERE: Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

WHY: Following the UN High Level Meeting in New York on diabetes and other non-communicable diseases, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is bringing together the most influential figures in the global diabetes community to launch the next key stage in the fight against a disease which now affects 366 million people. 

The World Diabetes Congress is one of the world’s largest health-related congresses, attracting 15,000 delegates, more than 1000 high level speakers, and representatives from over 200 diabetes member associations from more than 160 countries.

FREE MEDIA REGISTRATION
All media wishing to attend the World Diabetes Congress (WDC) 2011 must register with the IDF press office. Kindly limit media registration to no more than 2 individuals per organisation. Media are requested to pre-register no later than Friday 4th November. Registrations received later than 4th November and on-site registrations are permitted, but are discouraged.

Media Office Opening Hours

The Press centre of the World Diabetes Congress 2011 (WDC 2011) is located in the Sharjah and Ajman rooms on level one of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. It includes two press conference rooms, an interview room, a press office with all usual technical facilities (including phone/fax/modem lines, computers with internet access, etc) and a rest area.
