Franck Chalon from France is 45 years old and has been living with type 1 diabetes since the age of 21. After going through a difficult period following his diagnosis, which prevented him from achieving his dream of becoming a pilot, Franck grew to accept his condition and become an inspiring example for others.
Overcoming all the obstacles put in front of him, Franck became an Ironman, completing the gruelling 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42km run on multiple occasions. Not satisfied by his own achievements, he chose to share his experiences with others, providing guidance and advice to many people with diabetes training for triathlons. He is also active on many online forums.
Franck truly deserves to be a WDD hero and shows that you can do anything you put your mind to.
