The International Diabetes Federation is deeply saddened to have learnt of the passing of Lamin Dibba – a former member of the IDF Young Leaders in Diabetes (YLD) Programme from Gambia.

Lamin was a very active diabetes advocate, who touched the lives of many people in his country and around the world. He was particularly active in the Africa Region, which he represented during two of his years as a YLD.

Lamin was a role model, a source of inspiration and a true friend for his fellow YLD members. We have lost a leader, but he will always remain in our hearts and minds and continue to serve as an example for young people living with diabetes everywhere.
