Tackling the impact of diabetic retinopathy and health workforce shortages

To mark World Diabetes Day 2020, the NCD Alliance, the Fred Hollows Foundation and IDF have published a joint blog post to raise awareness on the role of health professionals in preventing and managing diabetes and diabetic retinopathy.

“Addressing the burden of diabetic retinopathy and health workforce shortages: A look at task shifting” includes the testimonial of two members of the Blue Circle Voices network who live with eye complications: Chimezie Anyiam from Nigeria and Michael Donohoe from the US.
