Call to recognise multi-morbidity and co-morbidity as a growing public health concern

12 November 2020

On occasion of the resumed 73rd World Health Assembly on November 9-14, the Global Coalition for Circulatory Health has made a statement to agenda item A73/5, on the need for Member States to recognise the impact of COVID-19 on people with kidney disease, diabetes, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. Many are facing the interruption of live-saving treatments due to the pandemic.

The Global Coalition for Circulatory Health calls upon Member States and WHO to recognise multi-morbidity and co-morbidity as a growing public health concern, prioritize their inclusion in the design and implementation of policies, and maximise common efforts to create and reinforce health systems that leave no disease behind during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
