Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina announced as first IDF Global Ambassador for Diabetes

IDF President-Elect Prof Akhtar Hussain presented an invitation to accept the honorary position during an official meeting held in Dhaka on August 24.
The title of IDF Global Ambassador for Diabetes is bestowed upon one person in recognition of the individual’s contribution to improving the lives of people living with diabetes. The role lasts for two years.
Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina thanked IDF for recognising her with this title. She emphasised the importance of changing dietary habits and raising public awareness to bring the diabetes pandemic under control.
