The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is divided into seven regions, with the aim of strengthening the work of national diabetes associations and enhancing collaboration between them. IDF's network of members in 168 countries provides an authoritative global voice, working to ensure that the needs of all people affected by diabetes are met so that each can live their lives as unhindered by the disease as possible.
Our membership includes people with diabetes; those at risk; families affected by diabetes; governments; health professionals; pharmaceutical and other industries; education and research institutions; employers; and the wider community.
A national or international association that is addressing issues relating to diabetes and associated conditions may apply for membership of IDF.
IDF has two Membership categories:
A Full Member is a non-governmental, not-for-profit association that is actively concerned with diabetes and related conditions in its country, and is registered or established under its national law.
A Transnational Member is a non-governmental, not-for-profit association that is actively concerned with diabetes and related conditions in more than one country.
