Presenting new epidemiological and diabetes-related impact data.
IDF Europe is part of the OPEN project consortium, which establish an evidence-base surrounding the impact of Do-it-Yourself Artificial Pancreas Systems (DIY APS) on people with diabetes and wider healthcare systems. IDF Europe role is to facilitate the knowledge exchange by, among others hosting some scientific researchers and helping to disseminate the findings of the research..
The OPEN project, launched in 2018, aims to examine clinical outcomes of those using DIY AP systems by analysing changes in quality and experiences of the users that will ultimately enable technological and predictive capacity improvements of the system.
The novel feature of this project is the extent of public and patient involvement
