By transmitting S55T and S50G signals they tried to raise awareness for better life conditions for people living with diabetes and to increase public interest for their problems. S55T and S50G signals were transmitted on the amateur radio waves across the globe on Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th, 2020. Over 10.000 QSO contacts were collected. There is more time for amateur radio operators' activities due to corona lockdown. The activities have been prolonged and will continue during the International High-Speed Telegraphy Championship which is held on the last weekend in November. In the past 21 years of our collaboration, our amateur radio operators collected over 120.000 contacts in most countries over the globe and transmitted many current SLODA AND IDF signals.
22nd annual primary and high school competition focusing on diabetes knowledge Every year more and more young people join the school competition focusing on knowledge about diabetes, its complications and a healthy way of life. In addition to their schoolwork they want to gain and improve their knowledge on other subjects. The competition itself proved to be an excellent diabetes prevention activity, promoting a healthy way of life not only among young people. It has an outreach to their families, parents and grandparents as well. Prior to the competition there was an internet seminar on diabetes and healthy way of life for educators and teachers. There are two levels of the competition: an intra-school competition held in October and a national online competition held on November 21st, 2020.
