Project Manager

We are looking to hire a part-time Consultant to join our team. The Project Manager will be home-based. The purpose of the project is to raise awareness of the risk, potential consequences and socio-economic impact of cardio-renal complications among people living with diabetes, healthcare professionals and policy decision-makers.

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is an alliance of over 240 national diabetes associations with two million members in more than 164 countries and territories, IDF has been at the vanguard of global diabetes advocacy for over 50 years.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Coordinate the rollout of the project
  • Monitor and evaluate data associated with the project
  • Support and promote the participation of healthcare professionals from LMICs in the project
  • Support the organisation of IDF live and online learning events related to the project
  • Develop promotional material to support the project through IDF communication channels, including social media and the website
  • Coordinate with external experts
  • Conduct literature searches on topics related to the project
  • Provide reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide other administrative, logistical, and project support as needed

Skills/Competencies/Experience

  • Project management experience
  • Fluent written and oral communication skills in English – knowledge of any additional UN languages is a plus
  • University degree (Master’s level) in public health, or another related field - with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience implementing multidisciplinary programmes
  • A dedicated commitment to global health issues and research, with empathy for the diabetes cause
  • International work experience is highly desired, as well as professional knowledge of advocacy, policy and/or programmes
  • Excellent judgment, a strategic thinker and an initiative taker
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills 
  • A good team player but also able to coordinate, plan and implement projects and activities with minimum supervision
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural and international environment
  • Ability to embrace IDF’s values, ethics and beliefs
