We are looking to hire a full-time Intern to join our Congress team a period of 6 months, starting in July 2022. The Intern will work under the supervision of the IDF Congress Manager and in collaboration with the IDF Communications Team.

The Intern will be working from home and does not need to be located in Belgium. This is an unpaid internship.

The IDF Intern Programme gives undergraduate students the opportunity to obtain training and exposure to IDF’s work in the field of diabetes and non-communicable diseases.

Key responsibilities and activities

Promotion of the IDF Congress 2022

• Supports marketing & promotion of the IDF Congress 2022 in Lisbon through various online and offline channels (website, social media, e-alerts, email)
• Supports stakeholder and target audience mapping by identifying relevant contacts in the international and national diabetes community
• Identifies diabetes-related events for cross promotion
• Supports the development and distribution of promotional material (print and online)

Administrative & communication tasks

• Assists in drafting congress-related communications (monthly newsletter, regular e-alerts) to IDF stakeholders and email distribution list
• Handles incoming requests for information
• Compiles reports and presentations
• Updates the congress database

Knowledge and complexity

• Knowledge level: higher secondary education or equivalent by experience
• Knowledge of standard business software including web design
• Knowledge of social media and marketing tools
• Fluency in English (oral and written including editing)
• Good working knowledge of one or more of the following languages – Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish - is an asset

• Ability to work with an international, multi-cultural environment
• Can work from home
